Reading recommendations
I am looking for suggested readings (books or on-line) that would help me understand the nature of corals. I need to learn about the different types (LPS, SPS, etc.), their care (lighting, compatibility, nutrition, etc.), and anything else before I start purchasing any for my system.
Thanks, Fred |

Jim, I am also new to the hobby but the books that I found to be helpful are "The Conscientious Marine Aquarist" by Robert Fenner and "Aquarium Corals" for identifying different species.

Borneman's Aquarium Corals is absolutely outstanding from the keepers viewpoint. I think it's a must have for any keepers library

Yes, "Aquarium Corals" by Eric Borneman is maybe the best book for the hobbyist who wants to get an understanding of the different kinds of corals and their care. Excellent!
Wetwebmedia.com is a great online source for all sorts of information related to marine aquaria -- it's Robert Fenner's site, who authored The Conscientious Marine Aquarist. HTH, Mariner
