coral adhesion

Need some advice here puhleeeze.....

As we're adding corals to our aquarium, how should we attach some of these corals to the live rock?

My Xenia was pushed over a couple of times before I wedged the sphere of rock she came on between a rock. The snails and tangs bumped her time and time again that necissitated this.

Now we have a bubble coral and she's a little top heavy.

Been pushed over once. What can we use to secure her to the rock???

Super Glue and even rubber bands are fine for the Xenia but probably way too weak to support even a small bubble coral. You might try marine epoxy (make sure it doesn't have copper in it) but it takes a while to set up so heavy bodied corals can be a pain. It's probably best to do the same thing you did with the Xenia. Bubble corals need to be in a secure spot because they damage easy in falls so give it priority with positioning-- they expand best in lower light and flow areas. Xenia are tougher and much less finicky about position. Once it gets established it can be come a nuisance like algae and grow anywhere. Trust me, I was a Xenia lover until a thumb sized fragment took over 1/4 of my tank in than 3 months.
