TY windy my goal was to have attractive rock with enough space, crevices, and overhangs so that a I had optimum space for coral and its growth, but leave as much open swimming space for my fish as possible.
Dutch ive got a good array of sps, lps, polpys and mushrooms, i would definatley label it a mixed reef... But i have more recently become and acro addict, but il get some of my acans up l8r i have thing for them as well... Stock list... 3 yellow tail damsels 1 strawberry basslett 1 sailfin tang who is growing like a weed... 1 flame angel 1 lyertail anthia and 2 BLack perc's that just hit the QT Light's are currently deep blue solar max 39w 4 bulb t5 with stock bulbs, a friend of mine works @ my local LFS and where going to start experimenting with some led strips, I have 2 24" 18 3w royal blue strips on order and cant wait till they get here. after i get them and play with for a week or two im switching my stock bulbs to geismans. I wish i had somthing better than my phone camera... Il get a full light shot soon |

Good choice on the percs. I wish I had gotten a pair but too late now. I think the t5s are a good way to go. I have seen a lot of super tanks (sps) lately run on t5s and wonder if I should have gone in that direction. What do you run in your sump, skimmer, dosing? Ive run kalk in my ato for 2.5 years and it has kept up with my calc and alk needs thus far.

TY, I had one clarki in my first setup and I told myself then that i wanted a pair, then I saw my first black perc and I was hooked. So Far im lovong the t5's I wish i had gone with a 6 bulb fixture but live and learn, (this is where the LED supplement experiment is going to come in). My LFS Runs halides and the difference between the color IMO is a no brainer, My LPS blow up, and all my sps have been growing noticably so im happy. Oh and the moonlight LEDs in this fixture are an awsome feature...
My sump is a sealife sytems acrylic it's ok but I wish it had more space im considering switching it for a fuge. Its currently got 15 lbs of LR my coralife 65 skimmer and my return. AS far as dosing, keeping up with alk/ cal, I am a firm believer in Regular WC I do (2) 5g changes a week. I also do aprx 1g a day top off with RO myself. I have no controller's doser's, ato etc. Not because I dont believe in these things; But because I feel that im at a point in the hobby where im trying to learn everything I can about my tank daily. By manually having to check my parameters, manually topping off, regular wc and keeping the fish well fed I make sure im looking at my tank several times a day. ![]() ![]() |

btb nice tank. what size is that?
Fla, I completely agree with you on the water changes. I do 5 gal a week religiously. I think that has a lot do do with anyone's success in this hobby. I am sure that twice a week for you does keep up well with your calcium, trace element needs. |

140g thanks. they are getting little older so don't want to have the responsibility of it anymore. so if anyone is interested in this, you can have a sweet the best corner tank on the market.

S_kelley, very nice tank you have there! How do you keep your back glasses so clean? I think another challenge for a corner tank is hard to keep the back glass clean especially when most tanks stack their rocks very close to the back and the two back glasses are against the walls leaving very little room to keep them clean.

I wanted to make a durso 1.25" standpipe for my 54 gal corner tank. Its a 9 year old AGA. Does anyone know what size the existing overflow pipe is? I am thinking 1". Anyone have any luck with the durso? I am currently using the stock overflow with strainer and float. Getting tiered of the gurgle.

Since the Megaflow kit is the same for both 54g and 92g, I think the drain for both should be 1" and return 3/4". I agree with the noise problem with the stock Megaflow kit. Am I right if you go with the Durso system, you will be using both the drain and return bulkheads for drain and find other way for return? I would like to hear from others who don't use the stock overflow kit too.

I thought it only occupies the drain and the return stays as is. There is another system that uses both but the name escapes me. Thanks for verifying the pipe size.
