I forgot to mention and ask: The new WWD models are said to be noisier on the dry side than the old models. What are you running?

There were posts in the Ecotech forum where people said they got louder after the WWD upgrade. No biggie
Good news for me! I mentioned that I wasn't all that happy with the noise level of my Tunze 6100s either. I made a very simple mod today, and holy cow! Silence! I'm using the Sure Grip 100 magnets to mount them. The Sure Grips have very thin rubber feet on both magnets. I replaced the inside magnet feet with thicker feet that I got at Home Depot. The vibration was getting transmitted to the glass with the original ones. Now the vibration is isolated. The noisiest thing now is the cooling fans.

those feet are a good idea. I think I'll ask Tim if I can put them on my VT to quiet it down. decrease contact and vibration will help, thought he motor noise will still be there.

I have two of the older models, haven't upgraded yet. Since they were new, once you found the "sweet spot" they are quiet. I have found that if I don't clean them for three months they get noisier and I know it's time to pull them for a cleaning. Good thread as I'm thinking of upgrading to the wwd.
