Thanks. DSA does custom work too, not sure how pricey that gets though.
FWIW, I talked to Felix over at Reef Saavy about a custom tank before this, definitely a guy I would feel comfortable ordering from. He talked to me for a while and gave me all my options for pricing/features to find something that would work for me; even after he knew I wasn't buying a tank from him. Unfortunately, it was still a little out of my price range. However, I'm super satisfied with my DSA off-the-shelf tank.

Hey Draven! This is way of my topic, but can I see a straight dead on photo. I'd like to see how the lighting cables are set up.
OK back to the topic. I think I'm leaning toward the LeeMar tank. I've tweaked my dimensions at bit. I received better quotes than the ones I posted yesterday, much better. This may be because I changed the height of the tank from 24" to 22" or 20". The glass being used may be 5/8" instead of 3/4". I've received quotes on the following sizes: 48x24x20 Starphire Rimless 48x24x22 Starphire Rimless 48x30x20 Starphire Rimless The quotes I received today from another LFS are much more reasonable and the difference in price between all three tanks is $100 and $200 respectively. I have two other sources that are going to contact me with a quote so I'm sure I'll be making a decision very soon. I'd also like to note that the difference in price between the 24" deep and 30" deep stand is also only about $100. The stand will also be 34" tall. Now I just have to figure out which of the three I should go with. I'm leaning toward the 48x24x22 or the 48x30x20. Which one would you choose and why? |

I have a 300 gallon Truvu and I think it is one of the best tanks out. Its always the same lady to anwser the phone when I call customer service. She is really nice and helpful she always gets back to you before the end of the day if you have any questions she can't answer. They will drill any holes that you want and Put the overflows where you want them and also black out the acrylic. You are getting a full custom aquarium for a lot less then what most place will charge you for not even half the work. Good luck but here is the website http://www.truvuaquariums.com/index.html

Definitely get an AquaVim 4Ultra Rimless tank. Starphire glass all around with a 3.8" diameter island overflow column, 45° beveled edge mitered corners.
