did my water change and changed out my gfo and carbon. i compared my nitrates to my fresh saltwater and i have undetectable nitrates finally! it took 4 months since i got the tank and my nitrates were over 200ppm. everything is looking good. trying to decide on one last fish.

wife wants a yellow tang. or a Copperband Butterfly

i would like a flasher wrasse or a helfritchi firefish.

current stock list.

2 oc clowns
1 royal gramma
1 Coral beauty
1 benngai cardianal.
1 pink spot watchman goby
1 cleaner shrimp.

anyone see any possible problems with either addition?

i have an end goal of having a mandarin. so if anything precludes this please let me know.

had a recent cyano outbreak it was rite where i put in my water change water. i would like to think that when i put the water in it stirred up the sandbed and released the phosphates where the sand was loosend up. i changed my gfo and carbon at the same time i did my water change. it looks like it has stopped spreading and it is starting to lighten up. i would really like to keep from introducing chemicals to the tank. will cyano go away on its own? i know that the wife has been feeding too much lately and i advised her to slow down on how much she feeds the fish. i work 24 hour shifts so its not like i can tell her that i will take care of the feeding by myself.

Bought some chemi pure for the cyano. I will be doing a half dose on tues. My work schedule wont allow me to do a 20% water change until Thursday so I hope it remains on the sand bed till then

I chickend out on the chemi clean. I watched to many videos that rased question to how safe this stuff is. I have manually removed quite a bit of the cyano. It has definitely slowed down. I believe the gfo and carbon are helping. Hopefully it will be gone soon. The wife can not stand the sight of the cyano. So the sooner it goes the better

I went through with the chemiclean. It worked as it said it would. Cyano is gone. Did my water change and turned back on the reactor. Need to change the csrbon and hope it gets my skimmer to chill out. Other than that the fish and corals showed no ill effects from the treatment

Everything is still going strong. Got a small 2in RBTA THAT seems to be doing well. Eats selcon soaked mysis every couple days. So far the clowns have shown no interest thankfully. I think if they tried to they would love it to death.

Im getting ready to start drill school for the Cincinnati Fire department. Thats 6 months long so im pretty sure the tank will just go to regular maintenance water changes and changing out gfo and carbon. I will try to take regular pictures to watch the few corals I do have grow.
