Heck, why not even ask ORA if they want a piece? Probably better for ORA to take a piece for aquaculture.

I know you will send out pieces to your buddies, but I truly believe you have a really special gem here and it out to go to some place like ORA.

Honestly, I'd like to see this piece around for years to come.

It can be called "Richards 6745 Acro".
Agree but he should receive some financial reward when they will be selling frags in the hundreds of dollars. Eg jawbreaker

Pretty sure you guys are being taken in by the magic of photoshop or at the very least a lot of post editing. The blue haloing is a dead give away. Not saying it isn't a great coral but it's had some help, just sayin.

I like it but have seen so much that's similar, would be nice to see a shot when it grows out.

Agreed. Notice the coral on the top left and the odd blue glow. Same hue, so it was changed as well.

You guys havent seen Richards YT video of this coral...

I've known Richard and have been following his tanks for MANY years...This is one reefkeeper who isnt going to photoshop or artifically enhance the look of this coral or any other for that matter.

We did use photo shop for these but just to try and represent what it really looks like since pics were coming out funny, still learning...
So these are my two favorites when they were at their best.
I like this one so much I named it bad azz acro.

This pic was shaky to start, cheapo macro lenses with water flowing and top down by hand...

But the image above IS photoshopped heavily. The odd blue on the top left coral confirms it. That coral is a greenish color. It doesn't have purple/blue on it anywhere.

Yea it is like I said. I guess you have seen my coral in person to know what colors it has

We were playing with ps when we got the new lens. I never said he altered his pic just said it looks similar to a few corals I have seen.

And you are right the base of the branches are neon green, no clue what species it is. Funny your telling me what colors it doesn't have. The purple is more of a pink, we are not photoshop shop specialists. Let me see if I can find the original pic...

It's easy to say what color it doesn't have. I just look at the pic.

And I just realized you thought I was talking about your coral piper. I am referencing the pic from Rich.colombo. Not yours.

Well I don't quite have a master piece yet however one of my favorites and I know I know its old news but I really love the color of ORA's shortcake. Minty green with red tips, very cool.

This thing is taking up some precious real estate. I just got some encased magnets and plan to use my bandsaw to cut the back of it off flush and attach the magnet so I can mount it on the back glass.

I know Richard as well, and this pic is not PS'd! It might be taken from an iPhone5 which tends to bring out the "blue", but otherwise I am sure its very close.

is it possible that one is a ORA Borealis? I saw something similar on unique corals website, might help with the mystery of where it came from?

I believe Richard bought it from someone taking down a tank. This piece didnt have this colour for a while, until he upgraded to a larger 115G tank and then the colour just popped out.

The excessive blue effect is due to the Iphone...seriously that phone cannot handle reef tank lighting at all.
