Plumbing is done !!!
Here you can see the shadow overflow... and a little bit of the water movement with just the two return pumps Here is the sump On the rightmost baffle the water comes in from the primary and secondary drain, also you can see the external skimmer intake with an elbow to prevent it from sucking air bubbles... an inlet strainer is on it's way for it... Then three 4 inch filter socks, which will have a level sensor to alarm when they are dirty and water is overflowing them Then a general purpose baffle, for some powerheads to keep detritus from settling, heaters, aqualifter for calcium reactor, sensor probes, doser outlets, maybe some media reactor, etc... And finally after a bubble trap the return intakes (also waiting for strainers) and the ATO will be there too... with a mechanical float valve and some sensors for redundancy On this video I removed the last 2 pvc pipe sections to give an idea of the real flow going through the sump... |

Thank you !!! I built the stand, canopy, plumbing and electric... the aquarium itself was build in site by a local contractor that builds custom aquariums, sump top was designed and made by me using waterjet cnc from a friend, the final sumo build using that top piece was done by the sane custom aquarium contractor... |

Yesterday I moved rock, corals and fish from the old tank to the new one.
Ended up with way too much rock to my taste but i left it that way to keep the bio filter.... after a couple months I will remove some of it to have a cleaner rockscape... https://youtu.be/v-dWNZGy5_E On the move process I found my randall goby, I have with him 5 years but besides the day he arrived I had only saw him a couple years back once... Was great to see him for a couple minutes on transfer https://youtu.be/1TtMLrxylJc After going into the new tank, guess what? He was gone in a minute... |

That's like my engineering goby. He's still really small, so he hides most of the time. If I stand 'just right' during feeding time, then I can see him zip out and grab a bite.

Long time without posting ...
So far everything is looking fine, the corals are getting better coloration nd growth tips... This is one montipora spumosa that lost its,s color and is now green again... This acro was almost black and now its turning purple... An overall view of the aquarium I need to install some fans because the temperature climbs too fast inside the canopy. PH has been steady around 8.3 so the co2 scrubber is turned off most of the time... Keep you posted... |
