No not tee'd off, these pump are designed to be throttled back.

I will know the flow through the chiller with my flow meter inline.

I've already had this thing running and it works well.

You could also t off the return pump with a ball valve and divert the proper amount through the chiller back into the sump or into a second return to the tank.
Yes because the chiller will cause head loss and the Eheim's flow will be restricted and miss the target flow.

Then the return water that isn't diverted through the chiller can be throttled back going through the Oceansmotions.

Well my QT's drain valve has a slow dripping leak. Shucks! And my display tank isn't ready for the fish and the fish aren't ready for the display tank.

I have a small bucket catching the water and this can work for several days while I hurry and get the display ready. I'm hoping the leak won't get worse and I don't know what is causing it.

How are you going to fix the leak?

And can you show some recent pictures of the fish?

Have you thought anymore about how you'll plumb the chiller?

Can't fix the leak until tank is empty. Can't empty tank until fish are done with quarantine.

Have a day off Monday. If don't take pics before then, then I will take pics on my day off.

I'm not sure. It has to be with the gate valve. Probably sand or gravel in it. It's such a slow leak, a cup a day, don't need to fix it now. I just have a little bucket under it to catch the drops and I dump it back into the QT to keep it topped off.

I think I'll plumb the return right through the chiller and inline heater.

I've had my pair in the QT for over 5 weeks now. Tomorrow or Mon. I'll change them over. Just need s.g. and temp at the right places.

The only shelter the fish might have in the display is the powerhead. This way they will see the food at feeding time.

Yeah, a pipe wrench? LOL!! Hand tightening is almost always enough.

My tank, refugium and sump are all acrylic and all drilled my me. I never worried about cracking and the hole saws with pilot bits didn't walk all over the place like diamond bits for glass.

wow that sucks. i was redoing my plumbing today when i found out i had a major leak since my silicone from my overflow box was ripped off, had to do the plumbing as fast as i could and in the process didnt glue an elbow correctly for the return, so now i have a slow drip and i have to do the return plumb all over again :[ i was also scared of breaking the glass when i was tightening the bulkheads on the display tank

I pirated this qoute from another thread (with the permission of the thread's owner of course).

I didn't heed the warning, with special emphasis on: angels -- will have some sort of spike that will get caught in a net.

Well the female was the first victim to be transfered to the 33 gallon -- fortunately she didn't get any sort of any spike caught, just her whole self. But the male did. His spike on one side was caught for a couple moments as he had all his fins flexed. Somehow I freed him and they're both in their new home all to themselves for now.

Although I felt bad for the male, I will watch him closely for some time. Now to switch the Reef Keeper to the 33.

I'm not sure. That's one of the least of my worries. I don't have to worry about equipment either. Just an ORP and pH controller and that's way down the line.

I just partially switched over to the skimmer part of the sump that's under the stand. I was using my auxilliary sump with a cpr overflow. Basically the setup I did today was putting the built-in overflow with stand pipe online. It drains into a spare tank with a heater and return pump.

Man I can't believe how silent this whole system is now! The Modified Stockman Standpipe makes it completely silent.
