Here's what I have for lighting now. Not sure if one A360WE and that Current Orbit Marine strip light is enough for Acropora (which I just added recently). I have around 215-230 PAR where they are right now mid tank at 75% intensity. Issue I have with getting another 360 is the back corner of the tank where the anemone is will be dim because both lights will have to probably have to be positioned more towards the front of the tank on the sides.

Suggestions?

You'll be fine with what you have. Eventually the SPS will probably shadow itself by its own growth, then add another 360. No sense spending 8-900 on the AP if you already have one 360.

Sounds like a good plan, thanks for the help.

I've got 4 coming. Bought only 150s because I didn't want to spend a fortune without making sure it's my long term goal. If I fall in love with these, I will sell the 150s and upgrade.

I run this exact setup. 2 a160we lights and a bluefish controller on a tank with the same footprint as a 40B. It works quite well, however due to the increased depth of my tank I might upgrade to a 3 light setup if I get going on sps using a 360we in the middle of the 2 160s. The bluefish is nice as it allows for dynamic lighting based on a selected point on the globe with real time weather conditions. It also allows for the use of 3 kessil lights as mentioned above on independent channels allowing for time shift lighting where you stagger the ramp start of each pendant by a preset amount. There are plans in the works to turn it into a full fledged aquarium controller. Not sure when that is going to happen but its something to look forward to.

Do you think two A160we would be sufficient for a 55 gallon? 48"W x 19"Tall

Do you guys think the Kessil A2000 would be too much on a 25 gal nano?

Coral colors are ok but improving as I'm finally beginning to register a little nitrate. I think my nutrients were too low to start with as my sps lost colour at first but are now improving and growing. Love the kessil to pieces

Love it!

You guys have some amazing tanks in this thread! I have a question for you... I'm considering picking up two Kessil A160's for my 55 gallon. the tank is 48" long, 13" to the back, and 19" tall. I want to grow LPS. Would two A160's be sufficient enough?
I email Kessil and they said "two A160WE-TB for easy LPS/Softies tank, and some sps that is placed higher in the tank as well."
I just cant afford the 360's right now or in the near future, but I want to have a little fun in the meantime. I appreciate your thoughts on this.

mine are doing fine and growing. The only challenge with the ap700 and sps is the fact that the pucks are only about 12" apart. shadowing is an issue if you have sps on either end of the tank. My tank is 36" and that's the only 'problem' so far. I just have to take the time to reposition sps near the center of the tank more.

Searched some of this thread, but there are a lot of pages. So apologies if this has been asked/answered many times before.

Building a 90g 36x24x24 tank with corner overflow.

Thoughts on running two (2) A360N vs. two (2) A360WE with this build?

I would run 360WE. The 360N are really nice, but they mean business when they say 'narrow'. The narrow beam does look pretty cool though as long as you can work around it. You could raise the 360N really high to avoid that effect if you wanted to. For such a short tank, it probably won't matter that much anyways.

OK. Guess the A360WE are the safest way to go.

Thanks for the quick feedback!

65 g 2 Kessil 360we at 50% color and 100% intensity. Acros are growing . Just added a couple of T5 to see what happens.

That's great, my intensity is at 85% ATM color 65% on my 90g... Added a couple of t5 a month ago, sps seems to like it, not so much my zoas... Only running the 2 t5 for 3h a day

INTENSITY: I start at zero, ramp up to 100% over 2 hours, run 100% for 8 hours, ramp back down to zero over last 2 hours.

COLOR: setting, of course, is whatever you prefer visually as it only has a minor influence on the effectiveness of the lights. I start out at 5% and ramp up to 60% and then back down...but I like the bluish color. My understanding is the UV portion of the spectrum runs the same no matter what the color setting is set at.

Tank is 55gal with 2 x a360we's with primarily SPS.. acro, stylo, birdsnest, etc. and has been running this lighting schedule for a good while. Cheers.
