I've got a pair of these over a 6 foot tank and they are actually too strong, they've been bleaching corals. I've tried a few different programs that people have put up, and I've been trying to make one of my own for the last few hours and what is in the composer isn't what ends up on the lamps when I send the illumination channels. I'm fairly fed up with these and wish I had gone with Radions now. Can anybody share a decent program designed for SPS with me? I've got a 72lx18dx20h tank and the lamps are about 9" off the water surface.

The most frustrating part is that if I go into my composer and look at the settings, they don't seem to be showing at the levels I have them set to, and if I go into a specific time of day that matches the current time the lights are set to and output directly to the lamps it's not the same as what has been transmitted.

What % / output are your lamps on, if you look at the run you have highlited, it's just over 50% of the output of your lamp.

If firstly you go DIRECT to your lights and adjust each light's output to 100% (via "System" under the on-board menu) then the actual illumination will be as stated on the Light manager.

If, on the other hand, your lights are set at 50%, then what will actually be displayed will be the percentage in the Light Manager X the percentage at the lights.

In the example you show, your light Manager is basically at 40%. If your lights are set at ,say, 50%, then what is actually displayed as output will be 50% of 40 %, which equals 20% Nett.

My overall lamp setting is at 100%, I was actually seeing another of the blue led's come on when I output directly to the lamp in the composer during the same time period that the program was currently in.

I was previously running the faux MH and T5 program and I just changed to the program I created above trying to reduce the max amount of light and stop bleaching "easy" SPS corals. I might have found a buyer for them though - thank God for the U.S. Dollar going up against Canadian.

Need a bit of help, I have 3 lights but can get only 2 to connect to the GHL controller program. Currently I'm only using 1 on my 50g, but my 180 is getting close to being finished and am having trouble.

cheers

I have, in the past, had this exact same problem.. The only way around it, for me, was to always create an entirely new program. If I tried altering a existing program, I would run into this issue.
Although creating a new program every time is a bit of a pain, it did completely fix my issue.
This was a problem I had over a year ago.. Maybe with software updates this issue is now non existent. However, out of habit, I just create new programs when changing things..

pm me your emails and i will send it. it has taken me a bit of tweaking the spectrum to get the results as i like it, and to get the corals to like it aswell, so if you try and run my project, try and run it for a few weeks, before you tweak it.

Moga, unfortunately I like the ATI color better. I got a 6200 like a month ago and still tweaking with the programming and still not getting a color that I like and the corals like. I haven't managed to bleach my corals yet (being careful to start out under HE mode at 70%), but their colors when from decent under my diy light to mostly brown now. Very frustrating. I wish I had gotten the Radion Pro. Good luck with yours.

Human vision is sensitive to green light, but less so to blue, so to make the fixture appear generally brighter you might increase the green LEDs (and maybe the white). Blue LEDs will have less effect on percieved brightness, but can easily burn corals since humans underestimate the real strength of blue light.

The photo with the ATI fixture looks like blue-green/cyan, which alas is a bit hard to achieve on the Mitras (at least on the LX 6100-HV that I have). I recall I came closest to cyan with lots of Blue (and perhaps some green?), but much less of Royal Blue, white, yellow and red.

remove the end plate that does NOT have the LCD screen in it and very very gently nurse it out. Clean and replace with equal amount of care. There is a capacitor on older models that sits very close to the shield and i have seen one case where it got ripped off due to over zealous force. I guess as with anything do it carefully!!
