I have a 34 gallon and an A4. The d120 or the a4 would work fine.

Seriously... This is the picture 3 and 7 that was mentioned earlier... Truly blueish tank..

This is what I have and it is sharp at full power
and the 30 blues make for a BAM blue only evening

Switch 1: 20 Blue, 4 UV
Switch 2: 24 White (10,000 K), 12 Blue, 12 Royal Blue

Is this overkill for my tank? I do want to house some SPS. Should I be looking at the A4? Just would like some opinions before I pull the trigger. Thanks.
Im thinking you could get away with a 55x3w unit... Easy
30 b/25 w...

I got 2 on my 125 and I'm tight... SPS and LPS...

Great so far its been a week and if anything there out more often and just as bright in color

My pics are 30 blues 21 whites 4 violets

I wouldn't go any less blues then 30 blues to 25 white and personally id do 35 blus 20 whites... The whites are powerful for me 30 blues 25 whites wouldn't be blue enough but everyone has a diff taste

I went with the generic 30 blues 25 white. Spoke with Hendy, and they were wicked nice. I can't wait to get this thing in... Already went to HomeDepot to get all of the chain and hooks for the hanging setup. Going to be annoying trying to get it level (steep slope roof on a 2nd floor apt) but it will be worth it in the end.

Thank you all for the heads up, pics, and info to get me away from the kessils (saved me tons of $$$)

I've got two of Reefbreeders.com value fixtures that should come in sometime next week. They should be dimmable via my Reef Angel controller.

Travis,

Thanks for the pics. Going to get about the same configuration as you have—they are on their way. Nice tank!

I hightly doubt there will be any difference between the two optilon. I would go less whites since they are really strong and ugly.. With just 18 whites in my A6 it's really overpowering. I have to have crank up blues 2x the power to get a blue plus bulb look.

I'm also looking to replace my 3 150w hqi with eight 39w t5 fixture with three of the black box 120w with 3w leds. Trying to figure out a color combo. Thought I would check with those with led experience and see if the combo of 15 white and ten blue on one switch with the second switch powering 4 UV and 26 blue? Looking for a great color pop but I don't want Dawn detergent blue. I'd like to find a combo that looks a little more natural at say ten feet deep in the carribean. Just back from diving off Grand Cayman and I LOVE the color at that depth around the reefs.

Thanks for your input. I kinda felt like I may need a few more white. Going to place my order as soon as I get my email response.

I have 24:24 white:blue. It gives a 14k Phoenix like look this way, with less blue. I have to turn the whites down almost halfway with blue at full blast to get a 20k look.

If you want the Phoenix look or bluer, 2:1 blue:white is the way to go.

I went with
Switch 1: 24 Royal Blue + 4 UV
Switch 2: 23 White + 4 Violet

I have a few more whites. If I want more blue I will get some replacement bulbs and mix and match. It is hard to tell until you have it over your tank.

Got a 65 coming 36x18x24

Anyone got recommendations for LED and a link to Sam that is talked about.

Would like a dimmable unit that I can custom fit blue/white and violet leds.
