Remember the less intensity the less par. I think the minimum for the 360WE are 12 inches above the water. You could Try that and slowly raise the intensities 5 percent until you hit the sweet spot and see what happens. Just a suggestion.

With the 360we @ 12 inch height (above water line) it will send direct light wide of the tank (24"x24") so I was thinking that was too high and wasteful. Hmmm..

My temporary light holder while I work on my setup, 48x48x20, with 4 360we's

Untitled by MechEcub

I'm hoping to loose the zip ties soon, as my aluminum finally arrived to build my light rack

It's a custom Planet Aquariums 66 Gallon 36x24x17 with external overflow drilled for herbie style drain. It's just cycling right now. Might start a build thread soon.

Amazing tank, I've always had a weak spot for shallow cubes. What're those squares on the bottom?

The squares are ceramic tiles from Alternative Reef, I'm planning to let the entire bottom be covered in corals, be it zoa, acan, gsp... to me all corals are also filters, the more the better. I do have a sand bed in the centre, 18x18x3" to hold my Derasa Clam and allow for wrasses... I will have more pic soon in my build thread.

It won't be wasteful. If you think that it will you could always lower the light. Just trying to get you more bang for your buck.

What do you use for flow? I don't know how I could possibly get such little agitation like that?
Also do you have any sps in there?

As of now I have 2 WP60s full blast and will be adding two more. My system is 99% acros.

This tank is dedicated to LPS, I will probably put a few monti's in just as I can't resist. I have a par meter so I can take some measurements, though I'm on the road for work for another few days.

I am running a 150 Gyre in each corner, coupled with 2 WP40's in each corner. I run the left Gyre and then pulse the opposite to WP's to break it up.
All controlled with my apex. I also run the Gyre in the vertical orientation, which creates a great race track for the triggers and tangs. It is rather low flow in the video as I was just letting the fish get settled in after being transferred.

I will have more info in my build thread http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2393628 in order to keep this about the Kessils

It seems like this natural looking shimmer is much easier to do with such a large surface area.

Do you have to custom make or buy used to get a tank of this dimensions? Or does any manufacturer make them this size

Also are you sure that's only 20" tall? Looks a lot taller from the video.

I am in the slow process of upgrading to a 230 gallon tank from my current 150 cube. I currently have one kessil 350w over my 36x36x26 cube and it lights the tank ok, but has lots of dark shadow spots. It is ok for now but the new tank I want to be able to put corals wherever I choose. The new tanks dimensions are 72x24x31. How many kessils would you guys recommend. Due to the dual glass braces I am thinking 3 would fit great but want to be able to grow all types of corals. One question I have is the depth at 31" worries me a little. Anyone using them with such depth? Also, what is the difference in the 360's and the one I currently have?

Love my Kessil's!! But took 5 at 100% to replace 2x250 and 1x400w MH. I would say they appear close to mh briteness.

I have 5 on my 72" 180 and it's just right but I'd like to add 1 more to make it perfect.

One more question: what's the difference between the a360w and the a360we?

The e series is the newer model and 15% (claimed) brighter than the 360w.
