I just dramatically increased my flow for $20!

I have no way of measuring their effectiveness but I'm sure these work. In case you haven't see the thread in the DIY forum, here is a link.

http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/sh...readid=1099596

These were designed by ivgonmad and are very easy to make. Each one costs about $5 in parts from Lowes. Parts list is on the above thread.

I just made enough for each outlet on my closed loop and I can tell there is more turbulence in the tank.

Two are missing the white part. I bought all they had.

Installed

FTS

I have mine mounted on locline so I can change their direction if needed.

Not the best looking things in the tank but no uglier than lockline or large powerheads. I did not take the time to paint them but that would improve their look.

Give them a try. Much cheaper than high flow powerheads!

ivgonmad, thanks for the design!

I haven't read the DIY thread.
And I am not being condescending, but wouldn't it be easier to buy a penductor?

I have thought about doing this too. Just increasing the flow by making a few small holes instead of one big one thus increasing the water pressure. good idea.

This is about $80 cheaper than buying 4 penductors.

Oh duh, I guess I did a poor job of reading the post. Thought it was $20 a piece.

Thanks

Cool, thanks. I guess I'll try this on my returns.
But are they still effective without a pressure-rated pump?
