hey everybody I'm putting some thought into making a purchase and want to know how your work and or if you recomend a Neptune system

I've had my ACjr for over a year and I'm nothing but stoked on it. I would list it as a "must have" if I were to start from scratch. The programing is much more robust than say a RK2, yet at the same time it's still very straight foward.

My customer service experiences have been positive, and the product has been great.

I use an AC Jr on my reef. I'd also put it in the "how'd I live without this, I should have prioritized it in front of x, y, and z purchases" category

The issue more comes down to "can I do everything I need to do with the Jr, or do I need to upgrade to the AC-3?"

i agree, once you try it, you'll wonder how you lived without it! i also agree that Curt is the best. He will answer any question you might have.

If you are in the market for a controller, I would take a look at this thread. Digital Aquatics is about to release the info on the new Reef Keeper Elite. They said they will be updating their website tonight. I am waiting for the rest of the info before I make a decision between the RKE and an AC3.

I have a AC III and would highly recommend either the III or the Jr. I wanted the III so I could monitor from work via internet.

I agree with Flat Broke ... it is a must have and you will wonder how you managed without it

how do you control lights with this.

most controllers work on a series of simple commands. Lights on a timer at the simplest. I have mine to go off if temp goes too high. If pH drops, calcium reactor goes off, if temp too high, power to the heater is cut off (redundant safety check). Some can be programmed to check or control via web interface or even phone. Some can dim certain t5 lighting, call you if it senses a leak, or parameters go outside your settings. You get the point
The acJr is great, but some of the pricey ones have some options I'd love to use.

I purchased one recently, and I agree it's a worthy buy. It's one of those things that you won't need UNTIL you buy the darned thing. After you use it however, you can't ever imagine living without it.

Sort of like LCD displays or wireless mice.

i have my sump/fuge in the basement and the main tank upstairs so the ACjr is a must. Keeping track of the temp and pH is way to easy and all the timers are too easy to control, its more of a peice of mind along with conveience

Cant wait to get the big tank and AC3pro

a controller is a must have imo, along with rodi and a litermeter3 for topoff.

all should be among the first purchases when starting up a tank.

I liked mine so much that I bought a second one for my 30 breeder/gfrowout tank. It just makes life so much simpler.

i like my ac jr. i don't let it controll my heaters/chiller, but it works great for everything else.

Neptune sells a module called Aquasurf that replaces Tunze Multicontroller and it is a little cheaper and works with ACJR.

off thread, but that looks exactly like my dog "Booze." Bull Terriers are the greatest dogs. I just bought an AC Jr and I'm looking forward to using it. I needed a ph controller for my new calcium reactor and got a great deal on the AC Jr
