Metal Stand should there be something between?
I just welded up a stand for my 65 its level at the top but i thought i had read somwere that i should put something between the tank and the steel
it is a glass aquarium and it has the black trim should i worry about this? thank you. |

Mass produced steel stands don't need anything in between the tank and stand. If you have full contact between the tank and stand nothing should be necessary.

You can use 1" or 2" thick styro sheets to counter any imperfections in the stands surface. Even steel can bend over time and the foam sheet will keep a level support under the tank and prevent warping from affecting the tank.

I used chipboard as soft enough to take the bad edges, but you need to seal with paint as will rot very fast if gets and stays wet.
