Just the office... They are made in china.
Coralvue doesn't sell directly to the retail market they are wholesale only.

The further your outlet is underwater, the more back pressure is created within the skimmer. Many, including myself, have found that this is the best. Leaving the outlet above water seems to work best but can be loud if your sump is under the tank. My elbow is 1/2" under water but I've drilled a hole in the top of it to relieve the pressure.

Anyone have startup issues with the PPW when it is connected to the silencer?
I unplugged and restarted my skimmer yesterday b/c I did some painting and mudding this weekend and the skimmer is going crazy!! Maybe the mud dust or something got into the water. Anyway, when I plugged it back in it would not start until I pulled the air hose off the silencer.

off topic
Just saw something on the news, didn't catch all of it. Seems like congress is considering passing a law making it illegal to possess non native animals. They mentioned birds, reptiles, and fish. I wonder how long it'll be before corals hit the list?

There must be a problem with these latest wheels. Mine also is tough to start. Too bad as the thing rocks when it's up & running.

I got the air flow meter today and i hooked it up to the octo extreme 160, is the black thing supposed to jump up and down, i cant get a reading, its always moving from 30 to below 20.
I have the small PPW with extra thin and trimmed 1 layer mesh. I don't know if i should try the mesh only mod again since i have the air flow meter. I wanted to get the PPW for my skimmer but if they are defective, i'll have to wait. Cant belive i paid $30 for the small one ...*** lol |

You need to get a baseline. I'd start with the factory pinwheel, next the mesh wheel, then the small PPW & finally your combo wheel. This way you'll get a feel for what works & what doesn't. You can likely sell your small PPW if it's not any better.
The meter will fluctuate but should only a few. |

I have a quick question, does anyone else have to readjust the skimmer every time you unplug/loose power? It seems like I have it perfectly set up pulling some great skimmate but then I unplug it to clean the collection cup or just unplug it for some other reason and if I don't change the a thing the water foam line is totally different and I have to close the piping until I get it back to where it was before...
Anyone else have this problem?

So I am waiting for my octo extreme to arrive in afew days and was looking at the PPW but after reading some of your post about problems I am hessitant. Is the only problems with this wheel when the pump is restarted? also for the people using this purple pin wheel does it do a better job than the stock pinwheel?
