The more I read, the less I know... help me size UV

Going to take the UV plunge.

My tank is a 125 with a 30gal sump. 2 inch sand bed and 120+ lbs live rock. The sump runs with only about 10 gallons in it. I'm fiuring actual water volume at about 120gal.

So... to correctly size a UV unit you want one that will do 4-5x turn over per hour while providing enough dwell time to kill Ich. That would have me looking at 480-600gph.

So here's where I get stuck. What unit would meet my needs? I like the Aqua line... am I looking at the 57w model for the flow and dwell I need? The 40w model (at almost 4' long) is physically too big to fit in the space I have.

Other suggestions?

as far as i know, bomber is no longer a frequent visitor to this site. I believe 40 watts is around the size you need for your tank. i don't run one so i can't help you any further.
