need help w/mantis shrimp

We bought a 75 gal tank for xmas. It's set up w/ls and I started buying live rock. Anyway I bought 3 nice big colorful rocks that stood out against the other more bleached stuff. I asked the lfs if these rocks came from someones tank and they said no that it came in from a shipment from figi or tonga. I asked about the possibilty of it contain ing a mantis and he said no. OK, so i put these nice rocks into the tank and 2 days later my wife tells me she saw something that looked like a feather swimming around the rocks. Ive looked but cant find anything or which rock its hiding in. I did notice that a mussel that was attached to the lr is now missing and ive found broken shell frags laying around the rock. I think I heard the clicking noises too.

Am I being paranoid or is there a good possiblity it's a mantis? What else looks like a feather swimming around the rocks?

Should I place a rock at a time in fresh r/o water to see if it will drop out of the rock? IF so how long should I submerge rocks before it kills all the good live stuff on the rocks?

Should I tryi a 2 liter bottle trap 1st before submerging rocks? I want to make sure I get rid of this thing before I start building up the reef.

Any advise/experiences shared would be greatly appreciated....I'm thinking someone had a mantis and traded the rocks to the lfs to get rid of it.....Kinda frustrated at this point/

Remember that clicking is more likely to be a pistol shrimp IME. Not a Mantis.
