Aquarium to be built: 48'x24'x24' w/ left corner overflow box
I would like to have 2 holes made in the bottom of the overflow box for the following... 1) 1½" bulkhead with a Durso style standpipe 2) ¾" bulkhead for sump pump return What should the dimensions of the overflow box be to accommodate the two holes mentioned with one having a Durso attached to it? 6"x6" is the standard I believe and this would be to small, wouldn't it? I'm thinking 8"x8" might do it? What size overflow do all you Durso owners use? Thanks in advance, Mark |

Well given the tank is approximately 120 gallons... Given the 3-5 times turn over rate... 600 gallons max roughly.... The 1.5" drain would work with a minimum of 9" linear over flow... So yes 6"X6" would work... Just for ease of install though I might go 6"X8"... It would give you 2 extra inches to maneuver the plumbing around inside
