Using a controller for temp. setting

I'm using my Reef Keeper II to control my heater, the accuaracy to keep it at your set temp. is amazing. Does anyone know how much harder it would be on the heater and the shortened lifespan of it possibly?. It just seems to kick on and off alot more to keep it at such tighter tolerances.

I think it likely shortens the lifespan of the heater, but heaters aren't all that expensive, and I don't think they last very long on their own. Plus, those that have electronic controllers already shut on and off quite rapidly.
