To Reef Central

ER RS80 would fit your requirements.

No, I dont. I have a larger tank and skimmer, but the RS80 has got good reviews and is a good skimmer for the $.

I happened to make a lengthy post about this very subject not a day or two ago, http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/sh...readid=1037124

The RS80 will probably fit your tank just right; it is probably more than I need on my tank, but it is certainly finding stuff to pull out. My (DIY) stand has 24" vertical supports, I am using a 30g (36"x12"x16") tank as a sump, and I have absolutely no problem getting the cup off. It is a slight challenge to get the whole skimmer out, but that is once every six months! Mine sits in 9.5" of water when running, as my first baffle is cut at 9".

If you go with the RS80 it will come with a wedge-pipe water level adjuster, so there is no need to do the gate valve mod unless you want incredibly precise control. I have absolutely no problems adjusting the level with the wedge pipe. Also, make sure to NOT use the air valve on top of the pump's venturi tube; and you will probably want to drill out the venturi hole on the pump fitting at least a few thousandths. I have been thinking of replacing that entire fitting with some PVC parts and a much larger venturi hole/tube, like 1/2" ID instead of the small 1/4" or 3/8" that comes stock. Haven't done it yet though.

Cheers,
Marty

None taken.

It looks as if the DAS line is a copy of the Deltec models, licensced by Deltec, using Aquabee pumps rather than... whatever Deltec uses.

I'll second the ER RS80. I'm running the CS80 and i'm very happy with it.
