which sea swirl would you recommend?

Just considering the replacement of the linear flow loc line tubing with something that oscillates. Which size sea swirl would you recommend if using an Eheim 1262 submersible return pump to run it. The pump is rated at 900gph max. When in use probably doing around 600-700gph (this is a guess).

In my tank, the return pump is already plumbed using 1" PVC across the length of the tank. But is the 1" model a waste if it is rated for 1150gph? Would there be any benefit to still using the large unit? Or should I consider smaller models?

You could use the 3/4 model but I would stick with the 1" so you dont have to mess with your plumbing.

Well as far as the plumbing, I will have to do a few minor modifications just to use a sea swirl to begin with. And my plumbing is already reduced down to 3/4" at the exit to accomodate the loc line I use.

Dont want the plumbing to be the reason to choose one or the other model. Some minor adjustmests are needed either way. On the other hand, I dont reallt want to change my return pump at all. I want the best choice for how well it will work with that in mind.

Thanks for the recommendation. I had not heard of that one. I'll have to look it up. If it truly is a better product, I'll consider it.

What makes one better than the other?

The wavy sea is much better built, can handle a LOT more flow, is easier to install and has more instalation options, and has a programable controller that allows you to set the "sweep" from 360 degrees down.

I have a 3/4 seaswirl and I liked it alot but on my 150 it was ok.I used a mag 18 to drive it from my sump. The 3/4 is rated for up to 700 gal.Your not supposed to drive more threw it(I did without a problem). The wavy sea plus can do alot more (1500-2000 gph)I am not sure but I do know the plus model can take more gph.The seaswirls are nice but they are bulky and they don't have a controler.I think I would go with the wavy sea or the wavy sea plus.It has more options than the sea swirl. It looks more compact than a sea swirl

You can take a look on there web site.I don't think they do have a minimu.I do think thaat you would want to put as much gph as you can to get a nice strong flow.Try the website there are links on the sponsor forums
