Just wondering if they make a T5 fixture that is 30" I want to try T5s on my sps only 20g long system but can't seem to find a fixture that is 30" Do they even make such a thing?
Thanks. |

Try this for starters, they're not hard to find:

I have personally never seen a manufacturer selling a 30" bulb. The T5 in the link above are not HO T5 so they are probably not what you are looking for.

Make a canopy, do a 4 or 6 bulb 24 inch retrofit kit, and stagger the bulbs.

Or you could just wait till the 24 inch Aquactinics T5 fixture comes out in about a month, they are awesome lights!. also they said that they are going to make longer legs for it so it will fit on a 30 inch tank. It essentially will be this fixture but in 24 inches and in the $200-250 range from what i have heard:

I would not hesitate to use 24" bulbs on the 20 long.
I'm using the 60" bulbs on my 72" 125, slightly staggered, so there's about 8" at either end with no bulbs directly over it. These are great spots for the lower light critters that just can't cope with the full power of T5s. I've got an elegance, several types of mushrooms, rics, RPEs, and a couple of acans all doing well in this area, in fact, much better than they were when they were in the directly lit part of the tank.
