What will eat/kill zoos and not bother anything else?
I've got an overload of zoos in my tank and I need them gone to make room for more sps and such. Is there a fish or invert that will eat zoos exclusivly and leave my clam and other sps alone? There are approxmiatly 1000+ zoanthid poylps in my tank so manually removing them is not really an option.
Any help is appreciated.

Trade the rocks with zoas on them for live rock with no corals on them. I'm sure you wont have a problem finding someone to trade.

nice, I bet you could get an awesome trade or at least a good amount of store credit at a LFS for that piece.

Well it's got a huge (although borwn) encrusting monti covering the other side, that I kinda want to keep. The monti takes up about 70% of the rock, you can't really see it in the pic though.

I guess there is no fish for this job hey? It would have to be clam proof though.

kalk putty
Just mix up some kalk with a little water, into a paste. spread it over the zoas you want to get rid of. Don't do too much at once. Its a lot of kalk. |

You should take that rock out, frag them all off, and put it back in. You could then trade or sell the frags

definitely frag them. You can peel them off pretty easily when they're that encrusted like that as there will be a lot of flesh. Once you peel them a little bit, they come off prett well. Then set them on some rock rubble and sell the frags. If you don't know how, I'm sure someone nearby can help you do it. Or just frag the monti off and sell the rest of the rock to an LFS for store credit. Great problem to have lol

Steve, I had a copperband (who I sold) and he didn't seem interested. Is it specifically a copperband that I should be looking at or maybe some other type of angel/butterfly?

Well I'm able to get some Zoanthid eating Nudibranchs from the LFS so I think that is what I'm going to try. I'm pretty excited to see these little guys go to work actually.
I tried peeling off as many as I could and it was no fun at all. I'm hoping these guys will clean up what's left. I'll post an "after" picture once it's all done. Thanks for all the good advice guys. Waxx
