metal halide question

i have been a vho fan for years, im geting ready to make the switch.i have a 180 gal with lps and soft corals also two anemones.after my lighting upgrade i will be adding sps also.
does this sound ok for a lighting set up?
four 250watt 20,000k and two six foot vho actinic that would run on a solar dimmer for morring and evening affects?

thx joe

I thought 180g tanks were only 6ft long??? If that's the case, you should only need 3x250w to light it. 1 MH will cover a 2x2 area. Unless you purposely want the super-blue look, a 20,000k MH plus VHO's sounds like overkill.

so it sounds like three 250watt 10,000k aqualine bulbs(german bulb) and two six foot vho bulbs would work better?

I would just use the MH on lumenarcs, I know someone with this setup on his 180, he uses 3 400's though
