Saw something new in my tank
Well, not exactly new, but different. One of my anemones was stretched out to where I could see its base elongated. Usually that isn't the case, as the other BTAs nearby tend to hide it with all of their tentacles.
The reason it was so visible was because the clowns were busy laying eggs that day. So I took a few pictures because clowns laying their clutch of eggs deserve some credit for their efforts. This is the appendage the eggs come from on the female clownfish. As she lays the eggs, the male fertilizes them. My True Percula is almost 10 years old, and has been laying eggs every two weeks for the past 3 years. One day I'm going to have to figure out a way to collect her eggs so I can try to raise her babies. |

Hi Marc
Check out the "elongated" base in my home tank video... Omar's Reef This anemone is turning into a true monster (I call it "Audry II" as in "...feed me Seymore...uh Omar"

Hey, I've seen that video before! I remember when you posted it in the Reef Home Videos thread.

That's awesome!
I like the way your cleaner shrimp is spying on them!

I agree, it does look like that. That shrimp loves to hang out in that area and the clowns don't mind.
