Anybody have experience using reeflo snapper? I just installed mine and it is loud. I thought these pumps are suppose to be dead silent. Any reason why it might be causing the noise? Does it need break in period?

What kind of noise? If it sounds like a crackling or there are rocks in the pump, then it is cavitating.
Can you describe the plumbing on both sides please. |

If you try to restrict the flow on the input side you will cause cavitation.

Like BeanAnimal said, if it sounds like rocks rattling around in there the pump is most likely cavitating. If you restrict the output (if you have have a ball valve) and it goes away you can be sure it is cavitation.

Thanks for your reply guys. I try restr. the output but the sound is still there. it sound lkind of like a high pitch fan or torpedo sound. Its not the fan cause i loosen the cover. Maybe its suppose to be like this? I have the pump on wood bord, but its not bolted in,maybe thats why?

![]() I ran into this problem with my old Dart. The problem was that the washer was stuck against the motor and was rubbing. I used a screwdriver to move it away from the motor and the sound went away. Tyler |
