ballast for VHO
Thinking about turning my regular flour. actinic to VHO actinic.
Just wondering what you all using and like the result. which one you find most reliable and efficient? Icecap? how about those ballast at home depot? any particular brand? electronic better? thanks |

T5 would be a much better choice in both light production and energy efficiency. i like the IceCap setups myself but allot of people use the Workhorse ballast and like them. Electronic is more energy efficient.

Something like this at Hellolights would work well if you do not already have waterproof endcaps.
http://www.hellolights.com/index.asp...ROD&ProdID=184 I am a died in the wool VHO fan when it comes to actinic supplementation. I have yet to see a T5 bulb with the coloration of the URI SuperActinic R. Thye also talk about heat but I can hold my 140w VHO bulbs in my hand all day long, they get warm but nowhere near as hot as the 96w PC on my nano which I can't even get close to. T5 is no different plus depends on reflectors to work well. Thye may be getting close but they are not there yet so I stick with VHO. |
