how often do you replenish the cleaning crew?

One bug bad hermit killed off a lot of snails, so I took him out. There are still alot of snails in there, but jusrt curious, do you leave the shells and just add more snails?

Personal preference. Some people leave the empty shells for their hermit crabs. I tend to take them out or throw them behind the rocks where I can't see them. If you think you need more snails to keep up with the algae growth than just add more.

hermits love snails!! i had the same problem, when a few of my snail were eaten i would leave them there until they got covered in algae and then threw them out. I prob should have thrown them
out right away...it cant hurt anything just a preference as tdchicago said. no worries...however crabs do clean way faster in my expirence and some of my snails(turbos) always knocked over my corals.
