light for a 375g need help

like the title say need help for my tan rimless,it will be soft corals only maybe some lps not sps,I was thinking off 3 aquamedic ocean light 250w but I`m not sure what do u guys think do I need more or what will be better and not to $$$$$$$$$$ much

3-4 lumenarc 3 pendants with 400watt HQI ballasts and Aquaconnect 14,000K bulbs. The HQI ballast though for sure with actual an actual HQI rated bulb it key.

The Aquamedic 250 will be bright enough only if you use 10,000Ks... not very blue. If you go blue, you will most likely want to kick it up to 400watt bulbs.

were I can buy the lumenarc at good price?I don`t think that I can use the double ended bulbs looks like the only bulbs that i can use are the regular mogul with the lumenarc.

If you're only going for softies and LPS, I don't think 400W of MH is necessary.


I would go for 2 4x54W T5HO retros. Spread the reflectors evenly over the 30" width. You should have enough light that way to do what you want. And you will have less heat issues and evaporation than some 400 watters.

Think of it this way: 2 4 bulb retro kits...let's say $550 (rough) with bulbs. You're also going to be running 432 watts in total, instead of 1200W of MH, or 750W if you went with 3 250s. Think of the savings!

that make sense my real interests is fish but I like to add some chaeto,calerpa,xinea ext something else to make the tank i live thanks guys for u help I will go with T5HO retros thanks
