Tunze Osmolator Universal 3155

Anyone running this unit ? Got pics or opinions on it ? I plan to buy one if I can make it fit in my system. Does the top off water need to be above the sump ? Thanks

I have one. Just hooked it up this weekend. I like it a lot. Don't have a picture of it but it does not take much room. I have it hooked up to my sump and I have a bucket next to the stand. It has a pump that will pump the water to the sump.

I've set mine up exactly the same way this last weekend. I saw 2 setups at a local vendor in San Francisco and he explained how I could set it up. The instructions are pretty clear too. If you don't have room inside your stand, you can use a brute can next to your fish tank. And no, the topoff doesn't need to be above the sump. Stopby KM Associates Int'l and set their setups, very simple.

You only need about a 1" wide space for a bracket; takes up very little room. Really an awesome top off unit; I wouldn't use anything else (especially considering Tunze's ridiculously amazing customer service). The brackets are a bit confusing to install however (I'm not particularly mechanically inclined).

I hate the tunze brackets...had fun setting up their wavebox this weekend. Basically the only way to adjust the height of the wavebox once attached using a butter knife to slide between the box and the brackets to allow it to slide oh and you have to do both brackets at the same time...anyways I've used the osmolator on a previous tank and I loved it. I used a 5 gallon home depot bucket with a hole through the lid for the hose and power cord to go through and on my 55 I only had to fill it up once a week. I'll be getting another for my 120 if I don't get a profilux.
