JEBO 180 hang on Skimmer?

Does anyone have this skimmer? I am having the hardest time cleaning it out. When ever I remove the top to empty the greanish brown water, it over flows. Need help!

Thanks

Not to sound stupid here, but you do turn off the skimmer before you dump it, right? Are you saying that it overflows after you clean it and power it back on?

Yes. I dont know anytihng about the JEBO skimmers but I always power off the skimmer, remove and clean the cup, and power it back on once the cut is attached. If its anything like most skimmers, the neck is part of the cup. If you were to leave the skimmer running, the water would just flow over the top.
