RO/DI Connections Leaking

I bought some T type RO/DI push in connections at the local water store. Every time I change out my equipment, a few of them never seem to get connected correctly again and leak terribly.

I've tried cutting off a bit of the RO tubing, pushing it all the way in and pulling back, etc.

I have a pile of these and have been replacing them with new ones from HD. Is there some trick I am missing to get them to stop leaking or are they just cheap and should be thrown away?

Use a sharp razor knife to cut the 1/4" tubing, making sure the cuts are perfectly square and the tubing is not mashed or egg shaped at all. Out of round can cause problems as can crooked cuts. Don't pull back on it much if at all, I just make sure mine are inserted all the way. Other than that it should seal.

Do you have a picture of the fittings where it is leaking?

I'll try cutting them again tomorrow in the daylight. If it doesn't work, I'll get some photos.
