GEO Reactor/Milwakee Controller?

Since I can't do Randy's 2 part now (Dowflake change their composition) I upgraded to a GEO 612 and control it with a Milwakee 125 controller. My question is... How frequent should the interval be when the CO2 kicks on. It comes on at 6.9 for 4 minutes and of at 6.5. Also do I leave the efflute wide open since its on a controller?

bulkreefsupply has plenty to go around, although this doesn't help you any as you already ahve the reactor.

I run my reactor on 24/7 but this depends on your calcium use. I run a full sps tank and a frag tank @ 30 BPM on CO2, and 50ml per minute on the effluent. I run my reactor PH @ 6.8 running ARM coarse media. This is also a zeovit tank, so my alk runs @ 7.0.

My controller range is set @ 6.7 off, but with the GEO reactor it remains stable @ 6.8 all day.

So it is not neccisary to have the controller shut down the syleniod to the CO2 if you can dial it in to your desired PH?

I have a GEO 612, and use the Gen-X coarse media. Here are my settings:

Effluent 50 ml/min
BPM 60-100 (somewhere around there. actual BPM count not too imporant if you're using a pH controller. Just make sure the BPM isn't too low or too fast)
Controller turns on at pH 6.8, and off at 6.7. pH probe is monitoring pH inside the reactor itself.

This has worked for me.

Thanks for all the help. I figured out on my ow that the bubble count didn't matter as long as the controller shut down Co2 when it has reached 6.5. I was overdoing it with the Co2 and it would cause the pumo to cavitate. After adjusting everything it seems to be stable at 6.50 -6.51 now.

Is it ok for there to be some air bubbles at the top of the reactor?

the air bubbles should be out if you run it wo the recirc for an hour before turning on. the dialing in is helpful but the controller is if something bad happens... the effluent drip stops and dissolves all your media or worse. so dial it in so you don't really use the controller but it will turn off the co2 if their is some sort of failure.

I calibrated the controller wrong. I had it set at 6.5 on the dial, used the solution. and set it to 7.01. I re-calibrated it just now, it was actualy at 6.01.

I was having the same problem. too much Co2 in the reactor and the pump would cavitate so I figured I would re caliberate.

My ALk is through the roof now over 16 dkh with salifert test! I am going th shut everything down and let it come back down. Hope this doesn't have a bad effect on my tank.

If I turn my reactor off for a couple of days at 6.1 will the media turn to mush?

Same thing happened to me when I first set up my reactor. The alk will come down on its own. My media was fine for 3 days but I turned on the recirc pump a few times a day so it wouldnt stagnate. Also I dont think it matters where the dial is set at as long as you adjust he set screw to 7.0. Is this wrong?
