help plz.Bad Reef Bugs?
I have had a few pieces of xenia fall off the last few days. Tonite I noticed small white/grey bugs running around on the rocks. These are not pods like in the sump. they look abit like silverfish in the bathroom, or maybe tiny mantis shrimp. they are slightly larger then med sized pods, but move verry fast and seem aggressive.
I been tryin to get a picture of one all night but they are to small. Can anyone point me in the right direction to find out what these are. judgeing by the sheer number of them I doubt this is good. my rig is a 36gal bowfront setup about 6mnths, have a 20gal sump/fuge, tunse skimmer, cheato and plenty of pods. 1 firetail goby. 2cleaner 1pepper shrimp. some assorted frags. 2 acro's 1 zoa, 1plate,some buttons and stick polyps, and a almost dead now zenia frag with 3 stalks, now 1 1/2. ph 8.2 sg .024 ites/ates = 0 calc 400. temp is 79deg. flow is around 1k gph with 400gph return and 780gph of korilla. the tank is clean andf has 1dozen or so hemits a sandsifter star, a seahare, and a few narssarius nails. t5ho lights. |

Its hard to say the do have long antenna type things, however I think they are benthic. They do not seem to ever swim. they run.

My guess would be they're sea monkeys (brine shrimp), which are harmless.

i'm pretty sure i have the same thing. mine are kind of silverish to white, are about 2-3 mm in length and pretty much only run around. i aslo have xenia that is doing just fine. they do not look like brine shrimp which i also have in my tank, the brine shrimp tend to swim alot more.
