Fireworm, good or bad?

Last night while I was doing my nightly "Hey I haven't seen that before" check of my tank, I saw a huge worm (at the time easily 5" an I couldn't see the end).

The worm had bristles on every section of his body and was a dark color and shimmered when hit with the flashlight. From what I can tell it is a fireworm and not a normal bristle worm (color was wrong anyway).

Is what I wanted to know is if I should try to remove it (I hate nocturnal removals) and if so how best to extract it. Sorry I couldn't get a picture, my current camera doesn't like macro shots at night (go go tax refund!). If I need to remove it, I will get you all a nice picture.

TY

I couldn't find a lot of information, aside from one guy here who said a fire worm killed some of his fish.

The little spines on it just look so cool, little fiber optic cables

Back to staring at your avatar greenbean.
