help with phosban reactor

Ok brought a phosban reactor (two little fishes) and a 454g media with it. On the instruction here stated. Put 50G for 50Gal tank.

My question is, I believe I have put in 1/5 of the 454g. That's about 80-90g more then the instruction stated.

Would it be ok? Should I worry?

It was my understanding that you actually want to start with less in the beginning, so as not to shock the system. This is what I have just recently done also. I am sure some one with more/better experience will chime in.

Yea, start will less then you think you should. Too much at first could effect your Alk.

So as I stated, I believe I have put in about 1/4 of the 454g media. Is that too much to start with? And should I take some back out?

What should I do?

So you are making me do math. So that is about 112 grams. I have never weighed my out, just fill up up a certain amount. For the first time I would put about 2 inches in there.

Boy, I believe I have put in about 4 inches. Really... do I need to take some out? Or should it be ok?

I think all of the posts stating that that's is more than you should start with are suggesting you take it out

Is your info right? " 55 Gals, 4 Soft corals, 2 Nemo" ? If so, you might be alright, SPS are more effected by Alk swings. But, I would keep an eye on things, and if you noticed any changes, turn it off and do a water change.
