Is this bad?
Is it bad that when i wake up the temp is 70-72F and when I go to bed its76-78F?

"bad" I don't know about the word in this situation
Maybe not ideal would be a better way to phrase it. the generally accepted range for reef tanks is 74-84 degrees and an acceptable swing in temp would be 2-4 degrees. I would bring up the low range to 76-78 by putting a heater on your tank.

A 30 watt would probably be fine.
