Ich & running DT fallow, ? about Chromis
Okay, I'm assuming this was deleted by a mod but I need this answered and CAN NOT view the Ich threads "due to high server load".
Got a Ich and Velvet problem....long story, won't get into it, again. But I need to know if I run the DT tank fish-free for 8 weeks to rid of Ich and such, can the Chromis stay in there??? They are the only "scaled" fish in the tank whereas the tang, etc are the ones that have visible Ich and Clown showing signs of Velvet due to new addition of a Wrasse. Do I "need" to also QT the Chromis?????

Yes you need to QT the chromis aswell. As long as you leave a host, which is ANY fish, in the DT you will continue to have the life cycle of Ich in your tank. You must let the tank fishless for 8 weeks minimum to let the ich life cycle die off.
This is the only way to rid a DT of ich. It is a long tough road ahead. Brad |
