Skimmer overflows post coral feeding

Do any of your skimmers overflow after spot feeding your corals even if after shutting it down for 5-6 hours?
I feed artemia and frozen coral foods that I mix with chromaplex from kent and JBL coral food... if it happens that I feed the anemones and fish at the same time then it will still overflow if I turn it on 10 hours later.
My new skimmer will be connected to an external skimmate collector and I'm afraid if it overflows it'll overflow outside of the tank and might even cause important water volume loss...

I never have had my skimmer overflow from feeding, but when I accidentally squished a zoanthid while moving a rock the skimmer started overflowing. I have my skimmate container setup so that it will overflow back into the tank if an overflow occurs.

This way it only returns into the tank if it's really overflowing, otherwise the skimmate stays in the container and gets dumped every few days when I clean the skimmer head.
