How many fish in my tank?
i have a standard 55g RR tank with a 20g sump. I already have a clown, beauty angel and a yellow tailed damsel. i want to add more fish but i'm not sure what an ideal number would be for this size tank. Any suggestions?

What type of clown? I'd suggest adding some small less aggressive fish like cardinalfish, gobies, small anthias, blennies, firefish, some types of wrasse and chromis.

They say 5 gallons per inch of fish, but its really more about keeping the right fish in your tank. As long as you can provide the proper husbandry for your animals, and your bioload isn't out of control. For a lot of fish it isn't about size. Yellow tangs for example aren't all that large, but they need quite a big tank because of their natural swimming habits in the ocean.

its a perc. we only had the damsel and the clown for a long time. they get along great, but when we added the angel we also added a chromi. The damsel and clown picked on him constantly. he got to where he just hung out in one spot, barely was swimming anywhere. is this behavior normal when new fish are added? the chromi wouldnt eat and eventually died...
