220 gallon - Basement sump - Plumbing
Hello everyone.
I am trying to plan out my basement sump room (not easy!). The display tank is going to be a 220 gallon rimless (72x30x24). I have a 75 gallon and a 55 gallon I might use as a sump or fuge, otherwise I will build a single large sump/fuge combined. I am estimating 12-15 feet of head for the return pump just to turnover the display tank, possibly less since I’m using Spa-Flex. I want 5x-7x turnover (1100GPH-1540GPH). I’d like to use the same return pump to feed the fuge and feed a manifold. The manifold will be used to feed any future equipment I might decide to add. Things I am keeping in mind are a carbon reactor, calcium reactor, phosban reactor, UV sterilizer, ozonizer, and one blank (just in case). I doubt I’ll ever have all of these items at once, but it’s nice to know I have the option. I also want to add a tee and valve to empty and fill the sump for easy water changes. I am trying to avoid having a mess of wires and tubing in my sump. I am considering maybe a Reeflo Wahoo or Marlin. Am I asking for trouble using a single return pump for all this work? Will I be able to keep flow consistent, or will turning one single valve change the flow rate of everything else around it? Thanks! |
