mixed tank - sps lps softies - bad idea?

I have inherited a finger leather coral. I also have a large toadstool.

Eventually, I want to have a decent amount of SPS in my system (300 gallon display).

How much of a liability are these softies, based on toxin and mucous production, to SPS? Is good circulation and carbon enough that I dont need to worry about it (with enough space around them), or should I maybe pass them along to another reefer?

Thanks!

I have them all together in with acros and montis and whatnot in my 40 breeder with no problems. The key is placement and if it comes to it, youll need to trim back some stuff when it gets really big. But yes, carbon is always a good idea, and keep the leathers downstream from the sps so they dont get blown into them.

I just keep a media bag full of carbon between two baffles in my sump and switch it out every month.
