Advice on repair of lamp - Silver sun 150
I have an old lamp which I bought a couple of years ago and recently one of the two T8 tubes (yes old stuff - I know ) doesn't fire. I checked the tubes and both work fine, so I guess the problem is electric...
I opened the boxes in each end (didn't open the middle one since it requires more work to get to) to see if I could find the T8 ballasts since I suspected one could have stopped working (see the last two attachments - 412 & 413). The box isn't very big and I have problems finding a ballast in the right size since most are long and thin. Of cause I could also just buy a 2x54W T5 ballast and change the fittings to T5 if that isn't much more expensive - but again most T5 ballasts I have been able to find is long and wont fit in the box? Any advices... Finally just out of curiosity, can anyone tell me what the two round things on each side of the 150W ballast (see first attachment - 410) is and what they do? /Magnus |
