Best non-reef reef tool
I'm finally getting to the end of a big sheet of eggcrate that I bought a couple of years ago. Seems like there is an endless amount of uses for eggcrate.
So what is your favorite non-reefkeeping reef tool? For me, It's either eggcrate (like I said, seems like there are an endless amount of uses for the stuff), or a turkey baster. Neither were ever intended to be used on reef tanks, both are must haves in any reefkeeper's tool kits.

There's a powerstrip you can get from a music/guitar shop. It has switches on each plug in so you can hit the switches to turn off the outlet instead of trying to unplug the pump, etc.. It's really great during maintaince routines turning off pumps, skimmers, reactors, etc...

Where is the best place for me to buy a "sheet" of eggcrate? Is is simply the light grid at HD or Lowes, or is there something else? Thanks.

I must be missing something. I have never used eggcrate for anything. After a tank is set up, when would eggcrate be useful?

Beer anyone?
Gutter guard eggcrate/light diffuser is used to hold frags closer to surface/also can be used to enclose a tank to keep jumpers off the carpet and can be zip tied(another great tool known as reef duct tape)can be used to make risers, boxes and such. I have a rigid airline that I heated and bent into a u shape-I use it to move small stuff in tank. Wegmans(grocery store) pharm. syringes +rigid airline = great tool for dosing and target feeding. I have a bunch of these syringes for lots of uses in tank.

Just ask at the pharmacy-they will give them out for free, usually in a basket at front reg. area.
Thanks for the bottle cleaner and skimmer one-guess i can't use one that has already had dishsoap on it though right?
