anyone use a 22k megachrome?
I'm looking for a very deep blue/purple 20k 250watt DE bulb. Would like to know peoples opinions, if they used the 22k megachrome. If you could also recommend a good 20k, I would much appriciate that. Thank you.

The only megachrome I used was a coral (14.5k) on an sls blue wave ballast, it was a very bright white bulb.
The best "blue/purple" bulbs I have seen are the radiums and ushios 20ks. The radium has a blue tint while the ushio has a purple tint. Although I prefer a blue hue over violet, the color rendering of the ushio is very nice as it lets corals retain and display their colors. The ushio would be a favorite for those that want to get the vho actinic look without using supplemental lighting. |
