Burrowing Clam?

So ive had my clam for about two months and all is well its been growing.

I moved it a about 2 inches back from where it was and it burrowed itself all the way down so just its mantle was sticking out.

Is this common?

sounds like it is trying to mount itself on the tank floor. Put a piece of rubble under it for it to stick it's foot to.

+1 on the above post, but i want to add. theres nothing wrong with it burrowing. many clams have only their mantle showing while the rest of the clam is in the sand or tucked in a crevice
