Toadstool splitting or dying?
Ok, so my toadstool has been kind of shriveled up lately. Now there is a hole forming in the center. Does not appear black or discolored in any way. Still upright and extending tentacles when daylights are on.
It has split once before prior to being purchased by me. It was in the tank when I purchased the setup and the 'baby' was attached by a thin connector about 1/4" around and 6" long but clearly came from the base. Excuse the photo quality...cell phone was only camera available at the moment. So any thoughts? Last edited by fl_possum; 06/05/2010 at 12:32 PM. |

OK, I sort of thought that but didn't want to let it go if it was dying and end up killing off other stuff.

I could be wrong but it may be in an area with too much flow.

In my tank when the toadstool gets a lot of flow it causes it to spilt. Its trying to preserve life by dropping babies.

It's not in a very high flow area. It's in the same place it was when I purchased the tank from the original owner. Right now it looks like cauliflower but still upright and tentacles out.
