MH melting brackets?

I'm relatively new to the hobby, and I have a question about tank mounted MH lights. I'm looking to upgrade my canopy mounted T5 retro kit to a tank mounted T5 or T5/MH fixture. It's been near impossible to find the Icecap Reef Illuminations or Tek Elite fixtures in stock, and there are no off-the-shelf mounting options for an ATI Sunpower that I've found so far, so I'm thinking of investing in MH. But my tank has a center brace (it's a 65gal 36x24x18), and I'm afraid that a MH lamp a few inches from the brace will eventually melt it.

Has anyone had or heard of this problem? If not, I may aim for the Reef Illuminations T5/MH combo.

Thanks in advance.

check out reef geek.com for the tek elite's.you shouldnt have any problems with the center brace as you will want to run the Halides 8-10" above the water surface anyways

Thanks for the ReefGeek reminder, I've been in contact with George in the past, and right now, their site is showing the 36" fixture in stock. I emailed him to confirm they actually have it. I'm hoping they do.

I actually was able to find a 36" Reef Illuminations from Marine Depot, but when it arrived, the reflector and one of the LED endcaps was bent. MD doesn't have any more in stock, and Icecap said they are backordered. They're willing to fix it, but I have to pay to ship it out to them, which I'm not going to do for a brand new fixture. So I was willing to see if I could get a MH setup instead. I'd really prefer to avoid the heat though.
